Today was laundry day for me. Well, to be honest, most days are laundry days for me as I have a couple of kids and a wife. Just like any other day of doing laundry, things were normal. That is until I went downstairs to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer…

The floor was wet.

All I could really tell is that there was a bunch of water under the tub sinks and on the floor. I thought I should sit there and investigate to see what the problem was…

It was a plugged drain. I could tell that much. But, I am not a plumbing wizard by any means, so I thought I could find the solution online.

Going to my favorite search engine, I looked for advice on fixing a plugged drain on home plumbing repair websites. What did I find?

Something obvious.

What was suggested was to use a plunger on the drain. And it worked! Thankfully there were no clothes harmed in this flood – that’s another tip for you – don’t cover your drain (or the path to it) with clothes (you might regret it later).
