Creating an Easy Web Promotion Strategy

Posted By Admin on October 13, 2007 @ 3:17 am

There are many of us active blogger’s out there trying to do everything any other website owner does:  come up with content for our sites, and promote the sites.  This may seem like an easy task, but it takes time.  And that is one resource that never seems like there is enough - I can count the days that fly by without me accomplishing the goals I had set out to do.

So, in my quest to get this and other sites of mine promoted quickly, I have been looking for solutions to promote my sites more effectively and quickly.  I would like to share with you an invaluable resource I found this week: TNX.net.

What is TNX?

Well that is easy.  It is a link marketplace - basically a place where you can buy links (ads) on other websites that point to yours.  What this does for you is get the word out about your site and helps you to rank higher in the search engines.

Won’t it take a lot of time to find the sites to advertise on?

My answer is a big NO.  It is as simple as picking the number of pages you want to advertise on and the pages link popularity, and POOF!  their software does the rest.  It is pretty much a click and forget solution to promoting your site.

If I can buy links, can I sell links?

You sure can.  All you do is add a little code to your site and you can sell links on your site.  This can be a great way to make a little money, or even to "pay" for your website promotion.  Again, they find the buyers for you, so you do not have to go beating on doors trying to find advertisers.

Can I make money from TNX?

Yes you can.  You can take advantage of their affiliate program which earns you free advertising credits anytime someone that you referred makes a purchase or sells links on their sites.  You can even sell your credits for cash.

How do I start?

If you are excited as I was to try out the program, there is a terrific opportunity to try this text link ads program.  Just visit this forum post about this marvelous text links ads program.

Creative Headlines

Now I try to read the paper everyday.  You can find different news headlines each day, but they are all so serious.  From everything from finance, to international news, there is not a lot of excitement when it comes to news headlines in our paper.

Sure, you can get excited with a little music gossip now and then - it seems that everyone is so fascinated with all the scandals that celebrities get involved in.  Once in awhile, they do manage to sneak into the regular paper and you get a little laugh.

Now, what should really be in the newspaper should be some strange news.  Not necessarily strange creepy, but strange funny.  There would be nothing better than the paper having some weird news headlines to pique your interest.  In that case they could make the front page interesting to grab your attention with headlines that scream to you to read the paper.  Then they could leave the boring or more serious stuff till later in the paper.  It would give us more incentive to buy it…. just my two bits.

Male vs Female Pediatricians

Posted By Admin on October 8, 2007 @ 10:26 pm

My great debate for today is male versus female pediatricians.  In Ridgefield, where I live, there are many from both sexes to choose from.  And with four children, I feel like I have seen them all.

The females, in my opinion, seem to be more attentive to the child; less to the parent.  They seem to spend much more time making the diagnosis.  They also tend to get a second opinion much more often than there male counterparts.

The males, on the whole, seem to address more questions to the parents than the child.  They tend to bond more with children who are their primary care patients.  I find them to be more thorough in their diagnosis and often order extra tests, just to be sure.

In the end, what I came up with is that the kids usually prefer the females and the parents, the males.  But both put the kids best interests at heart.  And I would not hesitate to take mine to either.

Some Advice from Grandpa

Posted By Twyla on October 7, 2007 @ 9:23 pm

Well, I had the chance to go out for drinks with my Grandpa on Sunday.  Now, I use Grandpa instead of grandfather because that is what I have always called him.  We have been very close for as long as I can remember and I have been his favorite (though he won’t say it).

I always have valued the advice he has given me over the years, and if I have problems, I usually go to him.  He is usually right, and sometimes can give me a different perspective on my problems.

Well, yesterday was no different.  You see, my husband and I have been looking at buying a house and I really didn’t know what to do.  Sure, I knew the obvious part about getting a mortgage loan, but beyond that I didn’t know what to expect.

He explained to me that a mortgage was kind of like a contract that was taken out over a term, not unlike the contracts I get for work.  Every time the term is up, you would go refinance your home, or basically renew the contract.

I asked him too about fixing up our house should something go wrong.  Also, I mentioned that I was thinking about replacing the carpets with wood flooring in the next five years or so.  He told me about how simple it was now days to get a home equity loan to pay for my renovations.

After our talk I headed home both smarter and more confident that I could tell my husband what we needed to do.

Hunting For A Credit Card

Posted By Admin on October 6, 2007 @ 4:10 pm

I decided that I should have a credit card for emergencies - you never know when it might come in handy.  Being new to the whole credit card thing, I decided to try and learn a little bit about credit cards before I filled out an application.

At first I tried to collect pamphlets from different credit card companies to read.  After looking at a few, I realized that this might not be the best way to compare credit cards - since each pamphlet had a different layout.

A little wiser now, I went home and decided to give the Internet a try.  I did a quick search for cashback credit cards (I decided it would be cool to get paid for spending my money) and found hundreds of options.  Feeling a little overwhelmed, I narrowed my search based on some criteria: low interest, no fees, and cashback.

I came up with about five cards.  I have printed up the information and will sit down at the table and compare them to decide which one is best for me.  I think I will still go talk to a banker to get their input on my idea - sometimes talking to a person is more educational than using a computer.
