Talking Real Estate

I have an old friend that I talk to on the phone from time to time.  Just a couple of years ago, he transferred with his company down to Florida and has been trying to convince me to move ever since.  I cannot decide whether he wants me to move there because he misses me, or because he wants to sell me a house (he is a realtor).

This talk started out like the rest – he asked about my family, work, the kids, and how I was doing.  Like every other time though, it quickly turned to real estate.  Seems today that he was looking to sell me some investment property – specifically an apartment block.  He highlighted that the return on investment would be high, and that the Florida mortgage rates were lower than they were here at home.  Also, he has a property management company all lined up for me – so I should definitely buy the place.

I asked him to email me the details on the offer and that I would take a look.  I do have a network of investors here that I talk with and if the numbers are good, we might buy the property.  If not, I am sure my friend will call when something else turns up – he always does.
