Suffering from Bad Luck

Posted By Admin on January 16, 2008 @ 11:01 am

I received a letter in the mail today summoning me to court for some unpaid traffic tickets that I was issued a number of months ago.  Seems that I forgot about them, and now I have a date in court to answer for my traffic violations.

I have decided that if I were to enlist the help of a NYC traffic violation attorney, I might be able to get off with reduced fines or none at all.  Besides, the only reason I got those parking tickets is that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time (oh no, I sound like every other criminal out there).

I made a quick list of attorneys to call.  I started calling the Manhattan traffic violation attorney practices that I could find in the phone book, but no one seemed to interested in my business.  I had a lot better luck with the Bronx traffic violation lawyer I called first, and he said that he would be happy to defend me in court.

There is still a couple of weeks to go before my trial – I am looking forward to talking to the lawyer to see what my options are.  Hopefully, this will end my streak of bad luck.

The Truth About My Rolex

Posted By Twyla on January 13, 2008 @ 7:30 pm

I have always been a fan of Rolex watches. Even when I was a kid, I said that I would own one some day. That day is here now and I am finally the owner of a real Rolex watch. It was a very exciting day for me, going to pick it out and size it and everything. No one knew why it was such a big deal to me.

The reason for this is that I have been wearing Rolex replicas for the past couple of years. I was not to the point where I could afford the real thing, so I did the next best thing I could. And, it must have been ok because no one knew that they weren’t real. I never told anyone until now.

Nearly everyone I know now wants to buy replica watches, after finding out that mine were not real. I even had a friend offer to buy the replica that I had been wearing for the past two years. I could not part with it though, as it was a big part of who I was and who I have become.

Designer Jewelry Shopping Trip Results

Posted By Twyla on January 12, 2008 @ 7:30 pm

It has been a very long time since I treated myself to anything.  I don’t mean eating out by any means, but rather buying myself some presents.

You see, I have been trying to pay down some loans and credit cards I have.  But yesterday, I was able to make my last payment on a student loan I have and my credit cards.  So, except for my car loan, I don’t have any debt.

Now, before you get mad at me for buying anything on my credit cards, just be aware that I have saved some money for the shopping trip I made today.  Even though I am using the credit card, I will be paying it off with the money in my bank account.

With that in mind, I went to a number of designer jewelry stores today.  Alright, lets change the number to a lot.  I pretty much hit every luxury jewelry store in the city.  I looked at necklaces, bracelets, rings, and pretty much everything else in the case.

When all was said and done, I think I must have tried on hundreds of pieces, only to settle on one unique designer jewelry piece.  It is a beautiful Diamond and Tanzanite necklace that just cries beauty.  I will be wearing it at the upcoming charity ball in town if you want to come and see me – I will be the most beautiful woman in the room.

Beginning my Internet Marketing Journey

Posted By Twyla on @ 2:20 pm

As I embark on a new journey of online business, there are so many things that I want to learn to do. I would love to learn how to do article marketing. The funny thing is, until today, I had never even heard of this. I was doing some research on how to achieve higher search engine rankings, when I cam across this phrase. I think it is something that is going to change my business.

My business deals with online media and promoting the site is going to become a big part of what I do. I have run the site for quite awhile, but it has been quite bland and stale for a long time.

The reason I said that I am embarking on a new journey is that I ma currently just starting Internet marketing. This is not something I considered before, but I knew my business needed a real pick-me-up and doing a little bit of research, I knew this was just what it needed.  Besides, if I don’t market it, no one will know it is there, right?

A Very Cool Assignment

Posted By Admin on January 6, 2008 @ 3:39 pm

I happen to know all of the very cool websites that are available to kids on the Internet. I am a college student and am taking classes to become an elementary computer teacher. For one of my projects, I decided to look into all of the websites that were geared towards kids and rate them.

There are so many sites that are full of just stupid stuff. These sites appear to have been created by three year olds and are a useless waste of cyberspace. I often wonder how anyone with a brain could actually come up with these things.

There are also many sites that are full of just cool stuff. I like these ones and I would let my own children use them. I especially like the ones that mix an element of fun with some educational lessons.

Out of the over 900 sites that I used for my paper, the best reviews were reserved for just ten sites.. I only gave horrible reviews to 100 of them though and the others would be found somewhere in between.

My Love of a Celebrity

Posted By Twyla on January 5, 2008 @ 10:55 am

There is a certain celebrity that I would have to say that I am the biggest fan of. I pretty much know everything about that particular celebrity that has ever been known to the general public and have written several entertainment reviews about them.

I love to read the net gossip. It gives me some great ideas for writing and I have even managed to sell some of my articles. I also know that half the stuff that I read on the Internet is complete garbage, but it is interesting, nonetheless.

I find that a great place to go for information is ratingzone and it gives me my fill every time. Some people think I really need to get a life, but to me this is my life and I love it, so why should anyone else be worried about it.

I love to write my reviews and I think I will continue to do this until my particular celebrity becomes a has-been. I hope that is not for a long time, but in this business, you never know.

Training Programs at Work

Posted By Admin on January 4, 2008 @ 12:16 pm

I can remember years ago when you would have a training program at work and you would learn from a person.  Now, that doesn’t happen so much anymore thanks to the information age.  You see, most of our training materials at the office come in a digital format, so that there is no paper waste, and no overhead due to some high paid corporate trainer.

Instead we have the "Online Business Academy" which consists of all our training manuals and knowledge base.  In fact, just today, I was looking in our knowledge base for the most current store reviews in our company.

You see, twice a year they send us out into the field to do insurance reviews with the store manager.  We need to ensure that each outlet has adequate insurance coverage to replace the inventory and store should disaster strike.

So now I have to follow the online training program regarding the insurance audit so that I am up to date with our current practices.  I can’t wait till this is all over and I can go out in the field and be outside of the office a bit.  I am thankful that we have these breaks from our routine – it keeps the job interesting.

Sharing Your Opinion on the Internet

Posted By Admin on January 3, 2008 @ 2:11 pm

Perhaps one of the biggest benefits to the Internet is your ability to share your views and opinions with the world.  Do you like something?  Then say something about it.  You can share your opinions in many different ways such as forums, blogs, and video.  You can pick the way to best way that you like to express yourself and share your opinions that way.

For example, I was at the supposedly best buffet restaurant in town, but I thought that title was not on the mark.  There food was mediocre, and the selection was pathetic, and when I confronted management with my opinion – they told me to jump off a bridge.

After the treatment I received, I went home to see if the restaurant had a blog or site – and they did.  They had a section where you could share your opinions and reviews – and I was sure to share mine.  I also went to the publication that published the glowing review of the restaurant in search for a place to comment, and they had a section for "your opinion" – and put my comments there.

But you don’t have to just search for the site of the product or company that you want to share your opinion – in fact you could just comment on your own site about it.  And do these companies care what is written online about them?  You bet.  The Internet has become an outlet for the little guy to be heard – and a place where the big companies listen.

Speak out and be heard – share your opinions online.

Finding Loopholes

Posted By Twyla on January 2, 2008 @ 10:38 am

My son was diagnosed with diabetes when he was ten years old. It was the first time that we actually realized how little health coverage we had. It had never been an issue up to that point, as we are a basically healthy family. We started looking into Medicare guidelines to see what kinds of options we had.

We found out that because of his age and because of the insurance that we currently had, we were eligible to apply for Medicare supplement to help oversee some of the costs involved with his disease and supplies.

We also found a few places that offered free diabetes testing supplies and it ended up not being as big a deal as we thought it would be. The situation is now completely under control and he is an active, normal twelve year old. We are finding his supplies easy to manage and it has not put us back too terribly much.
