One of my favorite things about the Internet is it is an outlet for creativity. I mean, where else can you share an idea, put up your own virtual poster, and share a part of yourself with the world? Well, there are not really any other mediums that I can think of that you can connect with as many people as the Internet allows you to do.
I came across a good example of creative writing today. By accident, I came across a site called End of this World. Right now, they are having a writing competition in an effort to write a novel.
This is the first time that I have seen this kind of collaborative writing – and what is written so far looks good. So good in fact, the short story that has rivaled many stories that I have read in books. It will be truly interesting to see the final product which will be the collaborative work of many authors. So check it out – you won’t be disappointed.
With the number of people downsizing their homes into smaller condominiums, there is an increasing need for storage. At least that is what I gather from reading a Self Storage owner blog that I read from time to time.
It makes very good sense. In fact, it is not just simple stuff that they are storing, it can be other seasonal items as well. They store things such as vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, and even camper trailers. Basically, if you need to have anything stored that just doesn’t fit at your home, it can usually be stored at a Self Storage Facility.
This also makes the idea of offering storage a great business idea. Many homeowners have even been known to rent their garage out as storage, and they will quite often pay off their mortgage sooner.
If you are in the market to starting a new business, now is the time: the baby boomers will need a place to store their toys once they retire and move to condos, right?
We have reached a cross roads in our life. My husband will finish with his master’s degree this spring and we now have to decide what he is going to do and where we are going to make our home. It is especially difficult for me, as I have spent my entire life in the same city and it will be hard to leave my life behind.
I know that it will be a great thing for us, once I get used to the idea. There are going to be so many more opportunities for our family and I have never had a hard time making new friends. We have decided to go and look at some of the houses for sale in one of the cities that we are currently looking into. We thought that maybe the availability and affordability of the housing could help us with our decision.
We have planned a week long trip without the kids. During this time, my husband will be attending two job interviews, which will, in the end be the deciding factor on where we live. I will miss my family and my friends, but I know I will survive and who knows, maybe I will even learn to love it and call it home.
My boyfriend and his band will be playing in front of a large crowd at this year’s exhibition. I am so proud of them as this is a really big accomplishment. The guys are all pretty nervous about it, but you can tell that they are really excited too. It is the first step towards making it to the big leagues.
The band has never had any problem getting gigs and has always kept themselves very busy, but this is a big one for them and they have never done anything of this stature before. It will be big in getting their name known and their music heard. There will be thousands of people there.
I am expecting great things to come of this and I have already told the guys that I will be their first roadie. I have been their biggest fan from the beginning and I still will be when they are making their videos for Much Music’s top ten count down.
I have been fascinated with eBay for some time now. You see, I bought a number of baseball cards on there over the years and I have found some really good bargains.
But, I felt it was time to get rid of my hockey card collection. Some of the cards I have date back to the early 1980s and are worth a pretty penny. But, I am moving shortly and I figured that it would be better to sell them than risk losing them when I moved.
I was looking for the best ebook about eBay. Sure, I had bought an eBay ebook or two in the past, but they were so outdated now, that I feared they would be useless.
So I have been looking at ebooks download sites to see if I can find a good one, but so far, I have had little luck. I just hope I will be able to find one soon, as I need to pack what little I have left – especially if I won’t be selling my hockey cards before I move.
From time to time, I do some consulting with college students. Specifically, I help them with writing term papers, research papers and other essays. Just like the college application essay that I helped my buddy with, I may directly help with the writing, or help find resources related to the task at hand.
The day today started off well. Overnight, someone must have purchased our package "Order Essay Assistance". So, I made contact with the student to meet before classes this morning at 8 AM.
Turns out that the student needs some help with their MBA essay. The problem I was going to have was it was on Psychology, which I only took one undergraduate class relating to that topic. Lucky for me, I have a friend who is in for their Doctorate of Psychology, so they might just be able to help.
I arranged another meeting with my new client on Friday – at which point we will get started on the writing.
Amy is a good friend of mine who loves quilting. She loves it so much, that for the past couple of years, she has been making quilts and selling them to friends and family. Her success so far has been great to the point where she has reached a tipping point of sorts – she is at the point where she could make a living off of quilting.
She came to me with a website that was all setup and ready to go. But, she confessed that she had no idea on what to do after she had her site setup. She had the “if you build it, they will come mentality”, and her business was never going to get off of the ground if she continued with that train of thought.
I offered to help her with her website marketing as I have a lot of experience in that area. Amy was so happy with the help, but she wanted to learn as well. What I have done is organized tasks for her to do each week, broken up by day, so that she can market her site effectively.
So far, things have gone great. She has sold a couple of quilts from her site, and is getting the hang of marketing as well. She is even talking about setting up other web businesses to sell other products, and we may be going into a joint venture together. I am so happy for her and her business success (and I am happy that I am a part of it).
I am the type of person of person who always looks for the silver lining in every situation. I have always been very positive and for that reason, no one seems to take into consideration that I can also be disappointed and that I have feelings that can be hurt. When I graduated from high school, there were some people who were supposed to be there who are very important to me.
They called and canceled the night before my graduation and I was heartbroken. I still had a blast getting all dressed up, getting my hair done and wearing expensive perfume, but a small piece of my heart was just not in it. Of course, no one seemed to think that it really bothered me because of the type of person I am and the way I handle situations.
When it was all over, my mom came and asked me if everything was alright and for the first time, I was honest and told her that it absolutely was not alright and then sat and cried over years worth of disappointments in which I had always pretended that everything was okay.
I was so excited yesterday when I received a wedding invitation in the mail. Most of my friends are already married (a sign that I am getting older), and so it was a bit of a surprise.
It turns out that my old cheerleading friend Melissa was getting married for the second time. I sure felt bad not knowing that she was divorced, but living in different cities, sometimes you find that you don’t talk as much as you should.
Reading the invitation, I found out that she was having her wedding in Cyprus. Thing was, I didn’t even have a clue where that was.
Looking on the computer, I see it is on an island over by Europe, and I think we will go. It will hopefully be the first of many weddings abroad that we get to go to. I will just have to figure out a way to convince my husband that we should go – but that should be pretty easy.
I am learning that I have a creative side to me. I can see what other’s don’t and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I didn’t know that I had one of these before because I had never actually sat down and enjoyed making something. I am glad that I did and I think that it will be fun exploring different things to see what I like.
The only reason I found out that I had a creative side is that I somehow found myself volunteering to help my best friend with her practical favors for her wedding. We made a few and then I made some suggestions as to how we could better them. She was amazed at that and at how creative I all of a sudden was.
I was amazed as well. We created all of these and I realized that I had such a great time doing this with her that I may have to become a crafty person. My husband laughed at that, but said it was a better idea than me all of a sudden deciding that I wanted to take up gardening. I can’t see that one ever happening.
