My parents never let us get a new video game system. We had an original NES that we had purchased from a garage sale years ago, but they wouldn’t allow us to get a Game Cube or a Playstation. I guess we were destined to be playing with poor graphics for the rest of our childhood lives.

They did let us go to a cheap website to find old NES games once in awhile and we were never really bitter. They were not very strict, except when it came to video games. They couldn’t be too violent and they had to play them first before we could. I guess they were just trying to protect us.

Imagine our surprise at Christmas time when there was a Wii under the tree for us. It was one of the best days of my life and they even went to our favorite website and ordered us a whole bunch of Wii games. They had decided that, since they could get educational games, we could have one. Finally!
