Not the Present I Wanted

Posted By Admin on October 9, 2008 @ 2:47 pm

I recently celebrated my birthday and though I love the cake and ice cream, I dread the gift opening. You see, I make the point of creating a list of what I would like for my birthday, but sometimes people just don’t follow it and they get me something else instead.

If my aunt deviates from the "plan" I don’t mind because she is very good at coming up with very good ideas. But, if anyone else does not get what is on the list, I typically find that I will get something that is either inappropriate or that I will hate.

Unfortunately for me, this happened this year when my brother decided to make up his own mind as to what I should get for my birthday. Instead of the best coffee maker and best coffee pot that I had asked for, he bought me some cheap "garage sale special" that who knows where he bought it from.

I thought he could’ve handled buying one of the best coffee makers on my list, but instead he bought me exactly what I didn’t want for my birthday.

Simple Choices Make an Exquisite Wedding

As a teenager, I worked as a DJ at many different weddings. At last count I had attended well over 500 weddings and I have seen many different decorating ideas. Some of them have been amazing whereas others have been kind of horrible. But there’s been one thing that I’ve noticed: having a custom aisle runner can make all the difference.

Okay, that might sound a little bit silly but let’s face it: if everyone had the same boring aisle runner what makes their wedding any better than anyone else’s?

Sure, you could argue that it is "their special day" but if your wedding looks the same, dresses the same, and decorates the same, what is so special about that?

I would have to say that by having custom aisle runners at your wedding you’re making a statement that you put some time and thought into your wedding ceremony. I know when I got married I sure made sure that I did.
