Falling in Love Over Paintball

Posted By Twyla on April 2, 2008 @ 1:05 pm

I have always been a huge fan of paintball. I try to get out to play at least once a week and have recruited so many new players to the sport. There is a group of us that get together quite often to shoot at each other and just have a really good time together, working on our aim.

There was a new guy in the group one day that told me he was a die hard paintball fan. My friends all laughed at him because he did not even have a gun. They prompted me to show him my Spyder paintball supplies and I could tell right away that I had wowed him. I blushed and challenged “Mr. Die Hard” to a duel and he accepted.

I think he was a little bit embarrassed by how quickly I took him down and he apologized for pretending he was all that. He was a cutie, so I accepted his apology and told him he could buy me a cup of coffee. That was four years ago and we are planning a summer wedding this year. And, yes, there will be paintball at the reception.

Paid to Play

Posted By Twyla on December 27, 2007 @ 1:41 am

I have worked as a night auditor at a hotel here in town for a year and a bit now.  Now, that may sound like a bad job, but it really only takes me about an hour to get the work I need to get done in a night.  This means I have a lot of free time to do with as I please, all while getting paid to be there.

Lately, I have been using the computer at the front desk to play online games.  Perhaps the biggest perk of this is I can play whatever type of game I would like and not have to install anything on the work computer.  Sometimes, I am in the mood to play casino games, while other times, I would rather play classic games like Bubble Bobble.

I was sure to ask my boss beforehand if playing games on the work computer was okay.  I didn’t want to get fired for something as stupid as playing games - and he had no problems provided I didn’t install anything on the work computer.

I am living the life I dreamed of as a child: getting paid to play games.

Wii Are the World…

Posted By Admin on December 10, 2007 @ 2:21 pm

Remember the song "We are the World" that came out in the 1980s or early 1990s?  I have always felt that the song was trying to give the message that no matter who you are or where you live in the world, we are all equal.

This seems to be the philosophy behind the Nintendo Wii.  Unlike xBox 360 games, all of the best Wii games cater to all ages.  Whether you are four or ninety-four, you can get enjoyment out of playing on Nintendo’s console.

They have definitely been one of the best video game systems to come along in a long time - putting fun first instead of realistic graphics.  Also, with the way quite a few of the games are designed, you will get a bit of a workout too.

Alright, are you going to ask me what the catch is?

The only real problem with this game console is if you are looking for Wii deals, or just even the system, you may have some problems finding it.  They have been flying off the shelves just as fast as they can make them, so call ahead before you leave home if you would like to get one.

Teaching Children Through Games

Posted By Twyla on November 22, 2007 @ 9:35 pm

I have decided to try teaching my nieces through a different medium.  You see, I watch them twice a week and I am getting tired of reading to them.  I spend a lot of time on the phone, so my voice is weak, and the reading is just making it worse.

So I have been looking for other ways for them to learn while they are at my home.  Television is not an option, since they watch way too much at home.  But one thing they do not get to do is use the computer - something that I am going to get them to try.

So, I have found them some fun games to play online.  What I have tried to do is find fun action games and fun puzzle games that are fun and educational.  Thankfully, there are quite a few sites out there that offer both types of games,  so I have written a few of them down.

I am going to try out the games for a few weeks and see if I notice any difference.  If it works we will continue, if not I will have to figure something else out.  I could always get some activity books for the to do as well…

FFXI Gil

Posted By Admin on December 29, 2006 @ 8:05 pm

So I?m thinking of buying two FFXI Accounts for both my sons so they won?t fight over who got what. Then on top of that they may want me to buy FFXI gil. Or I could just get FFXI power leveling, which may be cheaper and something they could enjoy. It may leave them feeling accomplished if they know they helped level their accounts. Or I can always have them slave of the yard and clean the house. That?s not that of an idea. I really don?t know if I should even get them anything so soon after Christmas. This actually may be the perfect gift for their birthdays.

I gave into WoW

Posted By Admin on @ 8:04 pm

So I gave in and went to buy WoW gold, WoW power leveling, and a few WoW accounts. My son is pleased with everything I bought him. I did spoil him but he?s willing to work off the WoW accounts because those cost me the most. I bought him about 6 different accounts 4 for him and 2 for his best friend. I thought why not since I got a bonus resently. I hope he doesn?t get it in his head that I?ll always do this for him. This World of Warcraft gift is a one time deal for him.

World Of Warcraft Items

Posted By Admin on December 26, 2006 @ 6:20 am

Well I finally got World of Warcraft for my son. He’s been wanting it since it came out, which has been a long time. He keep ranting about where to buy world of warcraft gold. It takes the fun out of the game in my opinion but he says he needs to catch up with all his friends by buying the best items and getting world of warcraft power leveling for himself. Power leveling will obviously help him level fast and I have no problem with that I suppose. If I do that though I might as well just buy him a new world of warcraft account. He loves world of warcraft but I don’t want him to throw it aside because he can’t compete with his friends. Then again I don’t want to spoil him and have him throw it aside because he leveled to fast… ahh the choices for my children I have to make. I may just make him earn it on his own. It is fairly cheap anyways.
